As a real person "on the other side" of this issue, I respectfully and vehemently disagree. I think that all who voted "no" realize the dangerous road that this bill would take us down. Nationalized health care would NOT be an equal or higher standard of health care than we have now. "We" want health care reform, too, but real. reform and not a takeover by the govenment, which is admittedly (by Pelosi and her cohorts) the path we would be on. And as far as the health care program that the Congress is on? No individual or business would be able to afford it. And it would certainly bankrupt our country, as would this convoluted and inferior version that has passed the House.
We simply cannot afford to do an healthcare overhaul of this magnitude at this time. Help the 13-15% of the population that doesn't have health insurance get coverage, make it so everyone can buy insurance from ANY state to encourage competition, and let the free market function without burdensome restrictions. Our country was founded on the idea that a smaller government is better, and that free enterprise works.
