Don't let'em hold us hostage over the debt ceiling!

During the Bush presidency these same Republicans voted to increase the debt ceiling 19 times. Why is it different now?

If Congress does nothing we will come out of the budget crisis

so says the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office. So what will they do?

They will hold the country hostage by threatening to not raise the debt ceiling.

Right now the Republican Leadership is DEMANDING that the President

cut programs that help the poor and middle class INSTEAD of allowing the Bush

tax cuts for the super wealthy to expire or ending subsidies to big oil.

This is not my opinion. This is what’s happening. I have linked all the points for

quick fact checking. I am not asking you to spend hours researching. Take a look

see what’s going on and than DO SOMETHING. I have even given a few options

Theres more but im outta time. Here is what I wanted to get across:

First let me state clearly I am NOT a Democrat. I am a random citizen of these United States. I will not spend any of my valuable time arguing my points. (If you are interested they can be found at www.cure4apathy.com) I will not because I feel it is highly unlikely you will ever read this. It will just go into some spreadsheet as a positive or negative and never be effective for anything else. I will be starting a new feature on my blog focusing on your actions with regard to your opposition to the Shale tax and your disregard for the grievous violations of standards as exemplified by the ridiculous fine on Chesapeake Energy, It would have been more effective giving the CEO 30 day’s community service. I will Tweet it regularly and it will be scene on all of my social media outlets.

Governor, times have changed. Your actions (you and the rest of the career politicians) are being monitored and discussed. Though you may not see it or care to pay attention the silent majority will give their opinion eventually.

I realize that you were at least honest when you won the election (about your opposition to new taxes) but, the numbers clearly show you are on the wrong side of this issue. It’s time for a “read my lips” moment.

I will try to be brief and respect that you (yes, you) have as much going on as I do. We can’t do a-lot to change what’s happening but my question to you (yes, you) is How can you do nothing?  Wait, before you call me an @$$#0!& for assuming, let me tell you where I’m coming from. Since I launched cure4apathy.com over 10,000 people have paged through. I am assuming they read at least a little. Yet of all those people the number of folks who got involved is very small. Now, you might say it’s a rebuttal of my opinions or they didn’t think I wrote well…Ok I’ll buy that. But it doesn’t change the fact that thousands of people had an opportunity to do something. Even if it was just disagree, and they chose to click off and go read, or post, on somebody else’s blog. If that is what you plan to do, get involved somewhere else, great! You’d be doing something. If everyone starts doing something we may actually have a chance to return to a fair election process that doesn’t allow corporate money to drown out the voice of the citizenry. If however you say to yourself “I don’t have time for this and who is this guy anyway, I’m too busy to get involved, let me get back to reading about Tina Fey (not that there’s anything wrong with that) your right. I am nobody. I am just a 42 year old white dude with 3 kids who voted for Obama and have been disappointed by his administration time and time again. I make a decent living have good healthcare and no danger of losing it. I am not a crazy “lefty”, I’m just a random citizen doing the only thing I can to try to make a difference. I am offering you and all your Facebook friends and all their Facebook friends and anyone who can type an opportunity to create a counterweight to corporate influence. I have a website at www.netizensunited.org and by open I mean anyone can moderate it once they sign in. You or anyone you know can create any discussion you want and drive the conversation, post video, blog, whatever…FREE. The only real cost is your time and attention. I can only imagine what would happen if it went viral. Can you imagine the power of millions of voices saying unequivocally “Congress belongs to the people not to special interests, millionaires and lobbyists!” I have said it before and I’ll say it again…”Campaign Finance Reform is the single most important issue of all”. It is because the outcome of each campaign drives the future actions of our “elected public servants”. If these “servants” are bought and paid for, their service is not in question…as it is not now. That is why the single moms life will be destroyed, and the educational opportunities for her children diminished, and her parents health benefits taken away, all so millionaires can continue living the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Is it enough yet?
